Scissor Lifts

Scissor Lifts

The scissor lift or platform lift, is an automated industrial lift that has been customized to be used in retail, wholesale, manufacturing and production settings. Industrial scissor lifts have been used primarily within production and manufacturing facilities for many decades to successfully elevate and lower supplies, people and other equipment. The scissor lift is a platform with wheels that functions like a forklift. It is useful for tasks that require the mobility and rate of transporting individuals and objects into the air.

Scissor lifts can reach anywhere from 6.5 to 18.8 meters or 21 to 62 feet when completely extended. It is not like other types of platform lifts that make use of a straight support to hoist its platform, rather it has folding supports directly beneath the platform that come together to stretch the platform upwards. Accessible with either an electric or hydraulic motor, the scissor lift provides a uneven ride due to the lift's design that keeps it from roaming with a steady velocity. Instead, it travels more rapidly in the middle of its path and slows down with additional extension.

Ever since the first scissor platform lifts were built in the 1970's, they have experienced many upgrades in the materials used and safety features added, while still keeping with the identical base model. Closely associated to the lift truck, scissor lifts are really notorious for their effectiveness and portability, as they are the only industrialized table lift that can be simply stored in a corner spot in the office. They are most oftentimes used indoors from warehouses to automotive restoration, these machines function in many diverse worksites carrying out many unusual jobs.
