Order Picker License Glendale - Order preparation operation or order picking as it is more commonly known is a process used within warehouse operations and comprises personnel referred to as order pickers. The order picker's duty is to collect and take articles in particular quantities to be able to complete the customer's orders prior to shipment. Order picking is an easy warehousing process. The efficiency in which this task is completed can be directly linked to the productivity of a supply chain. Hence, order picking is one of the most controlled logistic methods. Order picking falls in the category of the warehouse management system.

There are certain kinds of order picking which comprise: pick to box method, wave picking method, picker to part method or piece picking, sorting systems method and zone picking method.

The pick to box method involves the order picker filling the box with the items from his or her station. The box then moves to other picking stations until the customer order is done. In this method, there is no movement of the order picker employees. In the wave picking method, the order pickers move about so as to collect the necessary products for several orders. The piece picking or picker to part method is similar where the order picker or pickers move to gather the stuff needed but for one order only.

There is no movement by the order picker in the sorting systems method. Rather, products are brought to the orderpicker by an automatic system such as an automatic storage system or a conveyor system. In the zone picking method, each order picker is assigned to one particular zone. They are responsible for only realizing order picking within this specified area.
