Crane Operator Classes Glendale - For the operators and the supervisors, current and new, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content addresses relevant state, federal and provincial safety regulations. The first component of training includes complete in-class instruction and exam. Following that is a customized hands-on session together with practical lessons and evaluation.
Course content applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting equipment. Particular instruction will concentrate on aspects of crane operation utilized at the workplace of the trainee. Upon completing the course, people training will know how to operate specific overhead lifting machines, attachments and related components safely and efficiently.
The operator course's goal is to first identify and potentially dangerous operator habits which can develop when a person operates an overhead crane. Costly damage to products and equipment can be avoided with correct habits. Training reduces the chance of a workplace injury or incident occurring.
The duration of the course is eight hours of classroom instruction followed by a few hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants are graded on their understanding of training material via written testing and an evaluation of their practical knowledge. The minimum acceptable score is 80 percent.
In the in-class session, participants will know applicable causes of occurrences and damages, guidelines and legislation, danger awareness, internal responsibility, design principles and basic equipment, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, pre-shift equipment checks, safe hoisting/operating methods, equipment applications/rigging, kinds of hardware, pedestrian/operator safety, hitches and angles, hand signals for operators and slingers, flipping/turning loads safely.
The practical training and evaluation portion of the course must be pre-scheduled. This customized portion of the training will be held at the trainees' facility. The length of this practical training part is an hour or two. The instructor will train two operators at a time about skills like right rigging practices, safe operation and planning the lift.
Upon completion of the in-class instruction and the practical operating instruction and evaluation, the trainee will write a test. Signed safety rules will be needed from every participant. Individual wallet certificates would be given to successful trainees. A framed wall certificate will be provided to the company.
